| Approach to Therapy: | Psychoanalytic Therapy offers a unique opportunity for healing, growth, and change. In the safety of a therapeutic relationship of trust, respect, compassion, and care, the individual can become known more deeply than was previously possible. Together, therapist and client explore the individual’s strengths and struggles, hopes and fears, wounds and losses, and joys and sorrows. I align myself with each individual’s personal pace and path as we discover the ways in which past experiences have become a repetitive foundation of present experiences and restrict the range of future experiences. Previously inaccessible or inarticulate thoughts, feelings, experiences, and relationship patterns can emerge to be more fully known and open to new meanings. As the grip of old dynamics and symptoms give way at their core, one’s inner world becomes reorganized and integrated; new experiences of self and self-with-another evolve to create new possibility, broadening and enriching life in significant and sometimes surprising ways. It is my privilege to be part of this process. |
